Written by Aquabuggy =)
Starring : Cho Kyuhyun, OC,

STORY STARTS NOW!
< Flashback>
Her father walked into her room that day and sat on her bed. He cleared his throat nervously and Raemi glanced at him, her eyebrows raised. “ Raemi ah,” he stuttered.
“ Neh?”
“ You remember that promise I made with Mr Cho?”
“ Yeah, you kept telling unnie and I about it. You made a promise that you’d marry off one of your daughters to his son or something,” I repeated mechanically. “ Is it time for unni to get married then?”  Raemi laughed jokingly and looked out towards the vegetable garden outside of our house.

Silence ensued.  Her father didn’t talk for a while. She turns around and looked at him, her question remained unanswered.
“ He said he’d marry you off, Raemi ah ....  his youngest daughter,” my mom said grudgingly, entering my room and glared at my father. “ It was supposed to be your unni, but your dad said the opposite.” she sighed deeply.
“ Mianhe … Mianhe…,” my dad kept saying. Guilt written all over his face.
Raemi was stunned to silence.  Her unnie walked into the room quietly hugs Raemi who just stared into space.  Her face pale. “ Wh-when?” she stuttered.
“ Next week.”
< end of flashback>

Park Raemi lets out a sigh. She glanced nervously at her husband. She shudders to herself and looks away.  She hated him already.  He was nice to everyone but her. “ Typical businessman. Charming to his clients, when in fact, he may be a mean sourpussy in the inside,” she said grudgingly.
“ A mean sourpussy?”
Cho Kyuhyun smirked and shook his head. His straight hair swayed and fell back into place. Just like those advertisements on television.  Startled, Park Raemi averted her eyes and looked elsewhere.
“ Yah, you’re supposed to be my loving wife see? We’re at a function, dear,” he said smoothly to her.
Raemi choked and spluttered while looking at Kyuhyun in disbelief. “ Raemi ah, that isn’t pretty. You look like you’re drowning,” he whispered in her ear and smiled. “ Come,” he said simply and pulled her hand. It has been a week since they got married and frankly, Raemi was still not used to it. Things at home were as cold as winter, and they slept in separate bedrooms. Now, as his wife, she had to attend dinner functions with him to meet with clients.
“ Please excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom,” Raemi excused herself after Kyuhyun brought her around to chit-chat with several of his clients. Most of them had commented on how pretty she looked that day and she was positively blooming. The thing that bothered her was that her ‘husband’ smirked the whole time.
.......................
Raemi stood outside on the balcony, enjoying the warm rays of the sun on her face and the gentle breeze caressing her face.  She smiled to herself.
“ Park Raemi-shi?” came a voice behind her. Raemi turned around to see a dashing young man standing behind her. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
“ Annyeong! Still remember me?” he said grinning.
A smile began to spread across her face, “ Annyeong! Kevin-shi! What are you doing here??” she smiled back, politely.
“ Attending this function ... meeting clients ... all that,” he said.
“ Ahh...,” she replied slowly. Suddenly feeling awkward for meeting her high ex boyfriend here.  Kevin looked at her and smiled.  “ What brings you here Raemi ah?” he asked. The both of them talked for a long time and had fun until someone interrupted them.
~~~~
“ There you are!” Kyuhyun  exclaimed and walked over to Raemi. “ I’ve been looking for you, ” he grinned playfully. Kevin’s eyes widened and he stared at Raemi, his eyes filled with questions. “ Kevin! I didn’t get to see you just now. How are you?” Kyuhyun smiled.
Kevin forced a smile on his face, “Ah, kyuhyun-shi... Im fine,”he said and turned to Raemi, “ You know him?”
“ Ahh...Yes...I...,” she stuttered. Kyuhyun smiled, “ Oh, I guess you didn’t hear the news then. She’s my wife,” he said.
< Back in the house>
Kyuhyun loosened his tie and sat on the couch in their living room. “ You shouldn’t be so engrossed when talking to other men, Raemi ah,” he said.
Raemi looked at her husband quizzically. He looked at her and sighed, “ We’re married now. It doesn’t look nice,” he waved his hand about in the air. Raemi looked down. For a moment there, she thought he was jealous,but then she quickly brushed the thought away.
“ He was my friend,” she retorted, intending to sound calm but her voice had an edge to it that her husband saw.
“ He looked like he was more than your friend,” he challenged and played with his tie.
“ What do you care? You don’t even talk to me! So what if I talk to other people?” she replied.
“ You have an image to take care of now. Mine. Because you’re my wife,” he said angrily.
“ Boh?”
“ You heard me,” Kyuhyun said and walked off to his bedroom. Raemi stared at him incredulously.
......................................................
Kyuhyun and Raemi fought often, over little things really. Kyuhyun was hot-headed person and sometimes he gets moody when he comes home from work. Raemi on the other hand, is usually a calm person, but since he developed a habit of picking on her, she gets annoyed at him often. There were times that they spent together without bickering, instead enjoying each other’s company silently. Those were the times Raemi liked best. After a few months, they shouted at each less, but still they bickered over little things.
There was one day,  that Raemi found out something new about her husband. He can’t cook. Nope, the well-known and confident Cho Kyuhyun is a mess in the kitchen. That was one of the days that she saw the gentler side of his personality. Raemi got sick one day so she couldn’t cook for him when he got home.  She was asleep when he got home from work that day but she woke up when he heard noises coming from the kitchen.
She can never forget what she saw. A bomb looked like it had exploded in the kitchen! There were messy plates on the kitchen counter, powders, spices and a very confused looking Kyuhyun. He was cursing at himself. Raemi stifled a giggle as she watched her husband in the kitchen. Kyuhyun looked up and grinned meekly.
“ H-Hii.... I can explain,” he stuttered nervously when she walked into the kitchen. Raemi stared at his face, waiting for an answer. “ I tried making you beef teriyaki, but they got burnt...,” he said and looked down. Raemi peered over his shoulder, sure enough, in the rubbish bin, some pieces of black charred beef stared at her. She bursts out laughing, and because she laughed too hard, she began to cough. Kyuhyun handed her a glass of water.
He brightened suddenly, “ Ah! At least we have rice!” he grinned a winning smile and rushes over to the rice-cooker. He pushed the button, and peered inside. Silence ensued and Kyuhyun cleared his throat.
“ Wae?” Raemi asked and pushed him aside to see. Her eyes widened like giant saucers and she held a hand to her mouth, trying very hard not to laugh at her poor husband again. Rice? He didn’t make rice. It turned into PORRIDGE! ><
Raemi, still trying very hard not to laugh, pats his shoulder consolingly and starts to clear up the mess in the kitchen. He helped. She smiled to herself quietly. “ Kyuhyun-shi?” she asked him that day.
“ Neh?” He looked up and their eyes met. She averted her eyes quickly, but she could feel his eyes were still on her face. “ What is it?” he asked.  “ You’re nicer when you’re not always yelling,” she whispered. Kyuhyun kept quiet, and she continued, “ Thank you for dinner,” she said.
Startled, he shook his head, “ Aniyo, I didn’t do anything. We ended up buying take-out food.” He accused. “ Thank you,” she insisted because she was touched by his gesture.
...........................................
Kevin and Raemi talked often on the phone though. Sometimes, Kevin would ask Raemi out when Kyuhyun was busy and she was bored. Raemi was feeling much much more happier with the company of Kevin, who always tried to make her laugh.
“ I missed seeing you laugh like this,” Kevin confessed and smiled at her. Raemi who was laughing stopped short and looked at him, noticing the change in his behaviour.
“ I .... wished you didn’t marry him,” he said suddenly and looked at her, his eyes upset. Surprised over the sudden change in his emotion, Raemi stared at him speechless.
“ I don’t even know why you’re still with him! He always argues with you!” he said angrily. “ You should’ve been with me,” he argued.
“ He’s not that bad,” she said softly and continued, “ .... we broke up years ago when you left for further studies..”
“ I was planning to come back!” Kevin defended himself.
“ .... I waited for you Kevin-shi. I’m not waiting anymore,” she told him and looked up at the clear blue sky.
Kevin looked at her and tried to argue, but she shook her head. “ I’ve moved on, and I am someone’s wife now.”
She walked to him and and held out her hand. “ Friends?” she asked.
Kevin paused and let out a sigh. He cursed, “ That lucky idiot. He better treat you right,” he laughed dryly and shook her hand awkwardly.
< Talk between two guys>
Kyuhyun ah, if you’re free, meet me at the park. – Kevin
< At the park>
Kevin Woo sat quietly on the bench, watching little kids running around freely and happily.  Kyuhyun approached him from behind slowly and moved forward until he stood to the right of his friend.
Kevin looked up and forced a smile on his face. “ Why don’t you sit down?” Kyuhyun sat and stared at his friends face.
“ Is this about Raemi?” Kyuhyun asked.
Kevin nodded. “ I don’t know if you knew, but... I was her ex-..”
“ Ex-boyfriend? ... I figured that out,” Kyuhyun said calmly. Kevin looked at his friend, surprised but he laughed it off.
“ Of course you did...” his voice trailed off.
“ You can’t have her,” Kyuhyun said suddenly with an edge in his voice. Surprised, Kevin stared at his friend. He opened his mouth to speak, but instead he bit his lip and kept silent.
“ She’s my wife now. Even if it was an arranged marriage...,” Kyuhyun said seriously.
“ .... I know,” Kevin sighed after a long pause.
“ You’re lucky Kyuhyun. Raemi is a nice girl. Give her some time and stop being so hard on her,” Kevin said, a sad smile on his face.
Kyuhyun kept silent. “ I’m still her friend, and yours. But I won’t get in the way of your relationship...” Kevin said, defeated.
“ She loves you, Kyuhyun ah,” Kevin told his friend and smiled at him. Kyuhyun whipped his head around and looked at his friend’s face seriously. “ I can tell,” he added.
“ You thought she hated you right?” Kevin shook his head in disbelief and chuckled dryly.
...............................................................................
Kyuhyun rushed home that evening after talking with Kevin. He saw his wife, Park Raemi standing quietly in the kitchen, her back facing him as she looked out the window.
" Raemi-shi?" he called out softly.
She heard footsteps, and she knew who it was so she smiled quietly. Suddenly, she was embraced from behind. Her eyes widened.  Kyuhyun's arms hugged her from behind as he placed his head on her shoulder. Her heartbeat tripled its rate and she squeezed her eyes shut. She felt embarassed, but happy.
" I'm sorry  ...." said Kyuhyun's soft voice.
" For always fighting with you in the beginning," he murmured softly. A single tear rolled down her face.
" Thank you for staying by me," she could feel him smile when he said it and she smiled too.
He turned her around, and tilted her head upwards. He gazed straight into her warm eyes. " I love you," he said.
