The red Porsche speed silently through the empty neighbourhood. Thanh recalled what happened just now and hit the steering angrily. She caught her father with another woman again for the umpteenth time. Thanh despised her father very much because his unfaithfulness had caused her mother's death. Even so, that bastard had no remorse and continued bringing more women home.
"That bastard son of a bitch" she muttered under her breathe. As she continued cursing the man that she refused to call father, Thanh didn't notice an old lady was crossing the road.
SCREEECH!!!

She slammed the brakes and lost control of her car. As the car crashed into something, her body hurled forward but restrained by the safety belt. Trembling, she raised her head, praying wholeheartedly that she didn't ran into the old lady but what she saw drained all the colours on her face.

===
"Doctor, is the young lad going to be fine?"
The doctor looked at the old lady and nodded. The old lady sighed in relieve but as she looked at the doctor's eyes she knew that something else was amiss.
"But?"
"I'm sorry. His condition is stable but some of the little shards of glasses went into his eyes. There's nothing we can do about that, I'm afraid he will not be able to see anymore."
====
“Thanh-ah! Your favourite 2PM is on tv!” halmeoni yelled across the room. Thanh smiled as she made her way to the living room and flumped onto the sofa beside the halmeoni that she had been living with for almost a year.
“Looks like he’s been living well, isn’t he, halmeoni?’ Thanh smiled. Even though there were six members in 2PM, Wooyoung’s voice stood out the most. It’s been long since she last seen Wooyoung’s face, Thanh felt a bit sad that she had started to have difficulties trying to remember the way he smiles with a mischievous glint in his eyes or how he scrunch up his eyebrows when he’s confused or in deep thought. But even so, his voice is all she needs to hear. After Min Young had left him, she has been always listening from a far.
======
“God job everyone! Kamsahamnida!” all 2PM members thanked the staffs after they had finish their live performance.
As usual, Wooyoung would quietly change into his own clothes back. Chansung looked at him, worried. Everytime they performed Wooyoung would go into his own world but today he seemed extra distracted and out of focus. And Chansung knew why. It’s almost a year since ‘she’ left him.
Chansung and Wooyoung knew each other for two years since their trainee days. He knew that Wooyoung had been involved in an accident that changed his life. He met ‘her’ in that accident,
She,Thanh, almost hit an old lady if Wooyoung didn’t throw himself to save the old lady. But Lucifer himself wouldn’t let a soul to be snatched away from him without the price. And the price for saving the old lady’s life is his eyesight. Shrouded with guilt, Thanh stayed by his side as most people would say, become his eyes. Even after becoming blind, Wooyoung still aspire to become a singer. The doctor told him that he could see again if he can find a suitable donor.
But what chances could he get. People of the living would never give up their eyes and of the dead either was not suitable or the family member wouldn’t let the deceased to lose their eyes even after they’re dead. Day by day he started losing hope.
One day Wooyoung receive a call from his doctor. A donor is available. However, information about the donor was kept a secret as it was personally requested, so Wooyoung was never able to meet and thank him or her.
One week before his operation, Thanh had been acting strange around him. She’s been extra careful and attentive to Wooyoung as if she was going to leave him. Wooyoung was left confused but he didn’t voice out his feelings.
The day came and Wooyoung remember that day clearly as it was etched into his heart, stabbing his heart like a twisting knife everytime he recalls it. He was nervous before entering the operation room. His heart was thumping wildly like a horse in a race at the thought that he was able to see again.
“Don’t worry. Everything’s gonna be alright,” Thanh took his hand in hers and calmed him in her soothing voice.
“Gomawoyo, you’ll be here when I open my eyes right? Promise me” Wooyoung held onto her hand tighter.
“Mhmmm...” Thanh smiled and gave his hand a little squeeze.
After the operation, Wooyoung still have to stay in the hospital while waiting until he could the bandages that covered his newly attained eyes.
Thanh visited him everyday, he’d usher her away telling her that he’s fine and she should go to work instead of accompanying him all day long. She was there all the time and secretly he appreciate and love it when she’s around.
When the day finally arrived to remove the bandage, Wooyoung was so ecstatic he was practically bouncing in his seat. After this, he’ll treat Thanh to a nice dinner and confess to her. That all this time, he had fallen for her.
Thanh said that she’ll come soon so there was only Chansung accompanying him when the nurse started to unfold the bandages. The nurse was doing it so slowly that Chansung felt like pushing her aside and help his chingu. The bandage revealed still shut eyes.
“You can open your eyes now” the nurse told him.
“Shiro, Thanh is still not here yet” Wooyoung refused. She promised that the first person he’ll see when he opened his eyes would be her.
“Hyung, who is she? You’ve never introduced me to her” Chansung pouted. He never saw any girl around when he visited and yet words about this mysterious girl kept flowing out from Wooyoung’s lips. He was so curious.
“Miss Thanh had already left. She told me to pass you this” the nurse placed a letter in Wooyoung’s hand. He opened his eyes slowly and looked at the letter.

Mianhe Wooyoung-ah. I can’t forgive myself for doing this to you. I almost killed that halmeoni but you save me from becoming a killer. Remember that day when we sat on the roof at your apartment? We had a long heartfelt talk, you told me about your dream and passion. And I had brutally destroyed it. It hurts me to see that you’re smiling at me instead of blaming me. It would have been better if you’re angry at me. So this is the only thing I can do for you.

Love,
Thanh

“She left...” Wooyoung finally whispered out a hoarse voice, his eyes brimmed with tears. Chansung gently placed a hand on Wooyoung back, unsure what to do to comfort his hyung.
“She just left... did you see her just now?” he turned towards Chansung.
“Hyung, I’m not sure. I don’t even know how she looks like”
The words hit Wooyoung like a punch in the gut for he too does not know what she looks like.
==========
“Hyung, gwaenchanayo?” Junho ask after they had left the broadcast station.
“yeh” Wooyoung nodded and looked out to the window. They passed through a quiet neighbourhood; a few people were seen walking on the sidewalk. He saw a flower shop and reminisced that Thanh used to like flowers, especially lilies. When she was around he always smell the fragrance of lily flowers.
“Hyung-nim, can we stop here for a while?” he asked their manager.
As Wooyoung entered the flower shop, a mixture of scent engulfed him. There was a girl working behind the counter, more like flipping the magazine uninterestedly. She looked up when she finally noticed his presence.
“How may I help you sir?” she tucked her magazine away and stood up.
“Omo.. omo omo... aren’t you 2PM’s Wooyoung-sshi?!” her eyes went wide as she covered her mouth with her hands. Wooyoung nodded politely, flattered that someone recognised him at same time annoyed as he was not in the mood.
“Ahh... I just want to look around please” he said with a hint of personal space. She understood and smiled at him.
Wooyoung walked around the shop, looking at the flowers and trying to remember their names until he reached at one corner of the shop. He saw the flower he was looking for and strode towards that corner until someone came into view.
It was another shop assistant watering the flowers, her back towards him. Her black soft velvety hair reach down to her waist swayed as she moved, humming a familiar tune. It was one of their songs.
He approached the girl who was oblivious to her surrounding and stood admiring the lilies. She stopped humming when she finally noticed that he was beside her and turned to him.
“Welcome to ‘The Garden’. The lilies are pretty today. Would you like to buy?” she asked. Wooyoung stared at her incredulously, trying to take in what had appeared in front of him. In front of him was a girl with fair complexion, full cherry pink lips and black hair with bangs that almost covered her eyes. Her eyes that were not originally hers, eyes that confirmed his question and the truth that he feared the most.
“Ermm... sir?” Thanh guessed, almost believing that she was talking to herself like certain time until she heard the person shuffled his feet.
A tear escaped Wooyoung’s eyes, Thanh’s eyes, and stained the floor. Afraid that his voice would betray him if he speak, he took Thanh’s hand. She gasped in surprised and tried to pull back. Wooyoung traced the word ‘hello’ on her palm and she nodded in understanding. Thanh thought he was a mute.
“ahh.. Annyeong”
‘How are you? Long time no see. Have you been living well?’ he wrote again.
“Pardon? Do I know you sir?” she asked, sure that it was a guy from his rough big hands.
‘Yes. I thought I would never see you again’ he drew a smiley face. Thanh tilted her head in confusion; conjuring up images of friends she knew who was mute. None came into her mind.
‘Why?’
“Why?” Thanh voiced out.
‘Why did you left?’
Thanh’s eyes widened when she knew who is the person that was holding her hand might be. Her tried pulling her hand free but his grip was far stronger.
“I’m not gonna let you get away from me this time” Wooyoung finally said.
“You should forget me. Let me go. Do you know it was so hard for me to let go? Why did you came back?” tears started streaming down her flushed porcelain cheeks.
“Then why didn’t you hold on” he grabbed her other hand and clasped it close to his heart “and never let me go?”
“Because... because I don’t deserve that after-“
“My dreams,” Wooyoung cut her, “was to sing on stage while you’re watching me from the audience, from a place where I know you’re there and always beside me.”
“So let me stay beside you always and forever. Let me be your light and your eyes. Stay with me?” Wooyoung continued and wiped her tear stained cheeks. Thanh nodded meekly.
“But of course you beat me to that first. Becoming one’s eyes” he chuckled which earned a smile from her. A smile that meant for each other that will last forever, surrounded by the fragrance of lilies.
